Scream Queens is this super classic horror movie that’s been thrilling people since it came out in 1996. The movie’s about a bunch of college girls who get scared by this masked man.
This film is extremely iconic because it’s got this funny way of making fun of itself and the entire horror genre. It’s a must-see for any horror enthusiast.
Haunted Houses
Haunted houses are like the standard in horror movies. They’re just the ideal locations for all those scary moments and intense scenes.
A prime example is ‘The Amityville Horror’ from 1979. A family moves into what looks like a perfect house, but then they find out it’s got a spooky past. It’s based on a true story and it’s famous for its extremely eerie atmosphere and those really frightening scenes.
Mystery Cults
Mystery cults just make horror movies even more intriguing. A perfect example is ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ from 1968.
The movie’s about a pregnant woman who joins this hidden cult without knowing the scary stuff that’s going on. It’s this psychological suspense film that looks into stuff like religion, being deceived, and all the mysterious matters.
Psychological Thrillers
Psychological thrillers are like horror meets suspense. Like, ‘The Silence of the Lambs’ in 1991 is a total example of that.
Includes Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins in it, and the story revolves around this chick who assists a renowned serial killer in locating another one. The film is extremely tense and it’s ideal for a a late-night viewing session.
Supernatural Elements
It’s hard to imagine a horror movie list unless there is supernatural stuff. And ‘The Exorcist’ in 1973 is like the ultimate example of that.
It involves this young girl who gets possessed by some demon. The film is renowned for its intensely terrifying scenes and Linda Blair’s impressive acting.
