A prime example is ‘The Amityville Horror’ from 1979. A family moves into what looks like a perfect house, but then they find out it’s got a spooky past. It’s based on a true story and it’s famous for its extremely eerie atmosphere and those really frightening scenes.

Mystery cults just make horror movies even more intriguing. A perfect example is ‘Rosemary’s Baby’ from 1968.

The movie’s about a pregnant woman who joins this hidden cult without knowing the scary stuff that’s going on. It’s this psychological suspense film that looks into stuff like religion, being deceived, and all the mysterious matters.
